2016 flew by fast, and I mean really fast. I turned 18, finished my 15 year long dance career, graduated high school, got accepted into college and successfully completed my first semester. But more importantly, I started to realize who I wanted to become and what I wanted to do with my future. Now that the realization has happened, I am reading to take on 2017 full force and will stop at nothing to continue growing myself.
In the next few weeks, I am going to start working again as I finish up my winter break at home. However, I am also going to take advantage of this time being home to hang out with as many friends and family as possible before I make the journey back to college to finish up my second (and hopefully last) semester there. I am currently working on and almost finished with a transfer application to a school that I believe will fit me better.
I know, how typical and corny is it to have new years resolutions… But, I believe that they really are a good thing. Even though most don’t stick to them, it encourages each and every person to reflect on the past year and where they are now, picture where they want to be, and then make goals to reach that aspiration. Every day I am working on growing my confidence and self appreciation but, I know that it could always be better. Some days are better than others but every day is a new day. I am also going to work on my organization as the new year is now here. With managing loads of schoolwork with my personal life, organization is a must. (In fact, my boyfriend and I just recently picked up one of the cutest planners from Barnes & Noble that will make organization even more fun). This may sound just a tad nerdy, but I am actually extremely excited to take on my second semester at college.
Everyone takes on the “bring on the new year” attitude this time of year but to be quite honest, I really am excited to see what this year brings me. I am looking forward to making so many more memories with the people I love and taking advantage of every opportunity I get. I hope everyone had a happy new year and I can’t wait to see where 2017 will take us!
