Reflecting back on December, I realized I faced both some of the most stressful and relaxing times of my entire year. With finals mid-December and having to study extremely hard into the early hours of the morning, I became exhausted, over-worked and under-rested. However, with the holiday season and spending time with my family as my motivation, I pushed through and made myself extremely proud with the outcome of my first semester at UW.
The holiday season was the ultimate reward as I was able to spend time with my family at home, bake Christmas cookies with my mom, give gifts to friends that I love and so much more. It really made me realize just how much I have to be grateful for. Not only did I get to relax and not stress about homework, going to class or finals, but I was also able to spend more time on things I enjoy like, you know, the basic white girl stuff such as watching YouTube makeup videos or writing in my bullet journal (lol okay that made me sound even more basic as I typed it out) BUT you know what I’m saying.
With December and the year coming to a close, I really could not thank everyone enough who has been there for me and supported me in everything I have done and will continue to do. I’m extremely proud of myself for how far I have come in a year and am SO excited to see what the new year will bring me.
