Y’all, April was one hell of a month.
First and foremost, the weather FINALLY got nice again in Wisconsin (even though it was long overdue). It finally instilled a bit of motivation in my to get my sh** together and push hard through the rest of the semester.
HOWEVER, because the warm weather was fashionably late and came right when I should’ve began studying for finals, each day was an internal struggle and debate over whether I should spend time doing homework or waste my day away sitting on the dock at the terrace eating my weight in ice cream (you can probably guess what won most of the time as well).
I’m going to be completely honest when I say that I completely forgot I even had a blog for about a month there with the stress of finals hovering over my head. I even start to slack on my writing for the magazine I’m a part of on campus. Honestly, I have never been so unmotivated in my life and I think it’s partially due to the fact that I spent yet another year in the dorms hibernating for most of the months with the fear I would freeze to death after .92 seconds of walking outdoors.
It seems a bit dramatic and if you have ever met me, you know that I tend to be dramatic sometimes, (well, more than sometimes) but your mood really is affected a lot by the weather and your surroundings and I think it really got the best of me this semester.
I didn’t get even close to hitting any of my goals for this month but I guess that just shows me I need to work a lot harder than I have been and it’s time to stop letting myself get lazy. I really am looking forward to next year at school as I’m living in an apartment downtown with my best friend and two other girls and I could not be more excited. However, this summer is all about making money and resetting myself as I prepare for my junior year in college.
I do have to say though, I did work extremely hard to finish off my sophomore year as strong as I possibly could and I GOT A B IN CALCULUS so that just deserves around of applause in itself.
Overall, the month was pretty average ish and I’m looking forward to what this summer has in store for me!
